Radio statio KRML, part of Play Misty Fore Me legacy, for sale

Carmel jazz station KRML, made famous for its commitment to jazz and its legacy in the 1971 Clint Eastwood movie “Play Misty For Me” is for sale for $350,000, according to the media broker handling the transaction.

Ray H. Rosenblum of Pittsburgh, the exclusive agent hired by Monterey County Bank, said: “There’s a lot of interest from prospective buyers for the station,” officially KRML-AM 1410.
In addition to the station’s asking price its record collection, part of the estate of the former owners, is for sale separately for $400,000, and is the music store formerly located in the Eastwood Building in downtown Carmel.

Two years ago, the station went on the market for $1.8 million. Previously owned by David Kimball, KRML closed its Jazz and Blues Co. store in April and has been operating at reduced wattage. The station began operations in 1957.
KRML serves the Monterey-Salin market from Carmel CA. It’s a Class D on 1410 kHz, with 500 w-D and 16 w-N.
