New Kids' Race Series For Big Sur International Marathon

The Big Sur International Marathon is introducing a new race series — just for kids.The inaugural kids’ fun run, THE JUST RUN, Just Kids 3K, presented by Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, will be held in Monterey on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 in conjunction with the Big Sur Half Marathon on Monterey Bay. The second race of the series will be on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the same location, as part of the Big Sur Marathon events weekend.

Del Monte Hotel sits a premier U.S. defense education institution that
has trained leaders from 70 nations.The Naval Postgraduate School has educated 45,000 foreign officers and defense officials since its founding in 1909 in Annapolis, Maryland. Its alumni include: King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein of Jordan; Admiral Ozden Ornek, commander of Turkish naval forces; General Elyezer Shkedy, chief of staff of the Israeli air force; and professor Lui Pao Chuen, chief defense scientist of Singapore’s Ministry of Defense. The school moved from the U.S. Naval Academy to its current location in Monterey, California, in 1951.

New rates for many of the most popular golf courses
and resorts on the Monterey Peninsula were recently announced by Pebble Beach
Golf Resorts. The rates will remain in effect until March 31, 2008. According to the posting on the resort's web site, the fee structure also has the following parameters:Guests of The Lodge at Pebble Beach and The Inn at Spanish Bay may book up to 18 months in advance. Guests of Casa Palmero may book up to 12 months in advance, subject to availability. Early booking is recommended.
